“This was the perfect way to explore the city and learn about local culture and cuisine. There were seven people in our group which was a great size for navigating the streets and seating in the restaurants. It allowed us to get to know others in the group and hear our guide Jorge, when he was talking. Jorge was the perfect guide and host for the tour. His knowledge of the country, city, and local scene was outstanding. He was attentive and connected with everyone in the group. He made sure we were happy, and made us felt cared for. He asked for feedback our impressions as we were progressing…”

Market visit plus hands-on tapas, croquetas, patatas bravas and paella in Madrid’s Huertas, with vermouth and lunch included.

“Nice clean professional cooking class room. Informative but rather too formal for truly learning Spanish cooking. You don't get to cook your own dishes but you participate with a bit of chopping and a bit of stirring of the cook's main dishes. Would have been better if dishes were made more personally by between 2 people. Otherwise still fun with our friends.”

A 2.5-hour Madrid tapas and market walk in Malasaña with 6 tastings, churros breakfast, and local drinks in a small group.

“What a fun tour. Go hungry as you’ll have plenty of foods to try. The churros and porros with chocolate sauce and coffee were an excellent ‘first’ breakfast. The savory breakfast of jamon and cheese and wine/beer was equally good. We visited the Mercado and had samplings of olives, anchovies and figs. One of the most interesting stop was to sample olive oils. We ended with a wonderful meal of warm tapas and more drinks. We didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day. I highly recommend this tour.”

Private Madrid food walk in Chueca with 6 or 10 tastings, Spanish classics like patatas bravas, plus culture stops and a local guide.

“This was a horrible food tour. We could not have been more disappointed. The tour went to one bar and one restaurant a block away. We received a small nameless glass of wine and then went to one restaurant and were served three very small dishes . Two were local Spanish food and the other had nothing to do with Madrid cuisine. In total we had 5 “tastings” on a tour labeled as “ a 6 to 10 tasting private walking tour “. The food was not good and there was no explanation given about the area, the food or the culture. We never walked anywhere and we were offended…”
